Scenario #1
A man and a woman in a shadowy corner of a mexican restaurant. The woman is crying and he rests his hand on hers.
This is my take (after a very bad day and a few beverage of the alcoholic kind) For you Machel.. a poem
In a Mexican restaurant
In the soft candle glow
He held my hand,
And I let him go.
He told me her name,
But I didn't hear,
I refused to listen,
I didn't want to be here.
The love that I gave him,
All those years in vain,
And yet once again
He mentions her name!
Shut up! Shut up!
I think as tears flow,
Every atom of my being
Wants to get up and go!
He tells me he loves her,
And I want to die.
But in this darkened corner,
All I can do is cry.
I compose myself,
And retrieve my hand,
Then slowly remove,
My old wedding band.
I hand it to him.
Though dying inside,
I know that these,
Are the last tears cried.
For him. for her,
For a love that is lost.
And I turn to go,
Both of us knowing the cost.
But in time we heal,
And each of us grow.
And as they say...
You reap what you sow.
So I hope he find happiness
With his new little skank,
While I spend my time,
Laughing all the way to the bank!
17 long years,
I gave them to you.
But I guess I am not,
The woman you knew.
So while there is.
A love that I mourned.
Hell has no fury,
Like a woman scorned!
